‘American Idol’ returning to Television! Is Seacrest in or out?

Huge news for Idol fans!

According to Variety, ABC has a deal in place with Fermantle Media and Core Media Group to revive American Idol!

The deal would put ‘Idol’ on the air in March 2018, likely on Sunday nights, where ABC has struggled in recent years in competition with NBC’s ‘Sunday Night Football’ and FOX/CBS’s NFL lineup. ABC is the only broadcast network of the four without an NFL package.

The big question however is: will the hardest-working man on the air Ryan Seacrest be re-joining the show when it makes its move over to ABC? All signs point to “yes” as Seacrest recently joined Kelly Ripa as a co-host/ executive producer of her ‘Live’ daytime talk show on the same network.

But Monday on ‘Live’ Ripa addressed the rumors by almost begging him to re-join as host:

The series that jump-started the careers of Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood ran on Fox from 2002 to 2016.  Starting in 2003-2004 “American Idol” was the highest-rated show on television for eight consecutive seasons.

What do you think? Too soon to bring it back? Will you watch? Will you AUDITION? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
