It’s National Cheeseburger Day!!! Now that’s a national day I can get behind. Burgers are rarely my first choice. I have plenty of beef at my beck and call. And I do not normally crave a steak or a burger, they are on the menu at home 2-3 times a week in some way shape or form; spaghetti, beef and potatoes, or just a good steak under the oven broiler. Burgers and fries are Caseys first choice. Steak and potatoes are Ivans. However, now and then when I’m in the mood for a good burger and fresh cut fries, there have to be fresh cut fries on the menu, I order it at a pub. Pubs and bars just know how to make a flavorful and hardy burger. Toppings on the burger are just as important to me as the lean beef patty. I prefer grilled onions, provolone, and bbq sauce. Cold veggies are saved for the summer time grilled burgers when tomatoes and lettuce are fresh from the garden, or in my case, the roadside produce stand. Add a few ears of fresh and tender corn on the cob and that too is a meal fit for a king.
Where do you like to get your burger? If you say, Burger King, that’s fine too…no judgment here. The beauty of the burger is variety. You can be so creative with the patted ground meat. What you put in your meat or on top is endless, sorta like pizza. I hope you celebrate Nat’l Cheeseburger day in your own special way at your favorite place to order a burger.
