Ed Sheeran performs “Supermarket Flowers” at the Brit Awards

I’m not crying, YOU’RE CRYING.

Midway through the 38th annual Brit Awards on Wednesday, Ed Sheeran delivered an incredibly raw performance of one of my favorite’s from his Divide album, “Supermarket Flowers.”

The singer, who is always a favorite at the awards show, delivered a super tear-jerking rendition of the song, accompanied only by piano, guitar and eventual backup vocals from a choir.

The song, which includes such lyrics as “When God took you back he said hallelujah,” is one of the more emotional tracks from the wildly successful Divide, which came out last March.

Sheeran revealed in an interview recently that the tune is about his grandmother becoming ill and passing away during the making of the album.
