The NYPD is a fan of Katy Perry.
A few officers sang the artist’s song “Firework” inside a police cruiser in a video uploaded to social media yesterday.
Here you go, @bostonpolice. Everyone have an outstanding #July4th2018 — we'll all just keep singing, while fighting crime and keeping people safe. Thanks for the inspiration, @katyperry, @CarpoolKaraoke and @JKCorden. Enjoy the fireworks … and #GodBlessAmerica. pic.twitter.com/67OSRdKMUp

Police Commissioner James O’Neill posted the clip on Twitter with the message, “Everyone have an outstanding July 4th.” It comes a few days after the Boston Police Department put up a video of officers singing “God Bless America.” Commissioner O’Neill tagged Boston PD in his Tweet and also thanked Katy Perry and late night talk show host James Corden “for the inspiration.”
